Monelore company

A Place to Learn About Money Without the Noise

Monelore was built around a simple conviction: that people make better decisions when they understand — not when they are rushed or pressured.

Back to Home

Founded in Penang, with Malaysians in Mind

Monelore opened in George Town in 2019 with a small team of educators and facilitators who shared a concern: that financial literacy resources in Malaysia were either too product-focused or too abstract to be genuinely useful for everyday households.

The name Monelore — a combination of "money" and "lore" — reflects our orientation toward knowledge and meaning rather than quick prescriptions. We wanted to create a learning environment where participants felt safe to ask foundational questions, examine their own habits, and think through decisions without being steered toward any particular outcome.

Today, Monelore operates from our premises in Lorong Kuda, offering three structured programs that serve individuals, couples, and families across Penang and northern Malaysia. Our approach has remained consistent: patient, structured, and centred on the learner.

Our Mission

To equip Malaysians with the financial understanding they need to make considered, confident decisions — at every stage of life.

Our Vision

A Malaysia where households approach financial questions with curiosity rather than anxiety, and where education — not sales — shapes financial behaviour.

Our Values

  • Clarity over complexity
  • Autonomy over prescription
  • Depth over speed
  • Empathy in every session

The Team Behind the Programs

A small, experienced group united by a commitment to learning that is honest, thorough, and genuinely useful.

How We Run Our Programs

The principles that guide how we develop content, conduct sessions, and handle participant information.

Independence from Product Sales

We do not accept referral fees, commissions, or sponsorships from financial product providers. Our content is shaped by educational objectives alone.

Participant Privacy

Personal information and details shared during sessions are handled with strict confidentiality. We do not disclose participant data to third parties.

Curriculum Review Process

Program content is reviewed twice yearly against current Malaysian financial regulations, Bank Negara guidance, and SC Malaysia updates.

Small Group Sizes

Sessions are capped to preserve discussion quality. This ensures facilitators can give meaningful attention to each participant's questions.

Facilitator Credentials

All facilitators hold relevant qualifications in finance, economics, or adult education and undergo continuing professional development annually.

Participant Feedback Integration

Every cohort completes an anonymous evaluation. Findings are used in each subsequent program cycle to improve delivery and content clarity.

Financial Education Rooted in Malaysian Realities

Monelore's programs are designed with the particular circumstances of Malaysian households in mind. Topics such as EPF withdrawal strategies, Amanah Saham dividend structures, and the role of unit trust intermediaries are addressed plainly and without bias.

Our facilitators draw on backgrounds spanning investment analysis, consumer financial behaviour, and educational psychology. This combination allows us to translate complex concepts into language that is accessible without being condescending.

Operating from George Town, Penang, we serve participants across the northern corridor and beyond. For families navigating property considerations, education cost planning, or generational wealth discussions, our Family Wealth Conversation Series provides a structured, facilitated environment that many find genuinely useful.

We believe that financial literacy is a long-term development, not a single workshop. Our programs are designed to build on one another and to leave participants with frameworks they can apply independently long after their final session with us.
